Be warned, you only get one attempt at each temple and failure or settling for a lesser relic means you will never see that temple again… The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom.

It's been over a year and a half since then and the developer has been steadily improving and expanding the game to the point where it is finally ready to shed the Early Access tag and make its arrival as a 1.0 and 'complete' title.

The red moving platforms will stay forever unless you have spawned into the main hub where the whips are located.

The latter still requires that you own the Steam version, so I guess there’s pelo reason to specify that. The game is looking all kinds of fantastic, so it seems like the right time to start getting hyped for when it’s available and I find myself dying horribly for hours on end.

In terms of consistency, I'd say the void whip is the best. Disabling the guardian is hands down the strongest thing there is and it allows you to take as much time as you need for most rooms.

Team WIBY's asynchronous multiplayer game is shedding its Early Access tag, but what does that mean for the already excellent core experience?

Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers. Intrepid adventurers will dodge scores of hidden traps, leap treacherous chasms, and flee relentless guardians through branching paths until one of the relics are claimed or the devices of death overwhelm them. Be warned, you only get one attempt at each temple and failure or settling for a lesser relic means you will never see that temple again... The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom. Asynchronous Multiplayer Explore the perilous halls and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the phantoms of fallen players that came before you.

The cursed obsidian whip is probably more suited for endgame dungeons where there are fewer phantoms left to compete with.

in its current state it offers very little reason to try new whips once you find the ones you like. In the previous versions of the game to spice up the run I could try a new whip and because the whip was cursed it adds a new Em excesso challenge. And the reward for winning with the curse was a non cursed version of the whip where you just had the unique whip benefit.

Calm gives you a brief reprieve by banishing the guardian on a single floor, allowing you to focus solely on room hazards. I only recommend picking this up late in Phantom Abyss Speedrun your run, especially if you plan to visit the Inferno.
